Berrie Kabobs. It may sound like it's better suited for a health nut. When in fact, it's perfect for the wannabe health nut with no will power like me.

I remember reading last year's Iowa State Fair list of foods on a stick, and I saw that they had a salad on a stick. Maybe fruit on stick was on it too, but I don't remember for sure. That's mainly because I thought that some heath-crazed fanatic went and ruined the whole food on a stick genre. After my trip to the College World Series this past weekend, I might have to rethink that (possible) hasty generalization.

While riding the bus from the hotel to the stadium, someone told us that we should try this fruit on a stick meal. "You'll love it."

Fruit? This is a vacation. Who wants to eat healthy while on vacation? LoL. Never-the-less, we decided to check it out. Sure enough, it had fruit, but there were a couple different versions, and I was intrigued.

One featured strawberries and banana chunks. Perfect for the health nut. The other version also had strawberries, but the swapped out the 'good for you' banana for a few little round brownies. That's a little better for vacation food.

After assembled, it moved to the other end of the table. That's were this Berrie Kabob suddenly got good... just not good for you.

A quick kiss of glaze and then a layer of heavenly white icing was added to this now perfect vacation food, even the one with bananas. Now you're talking. By eating this, I  can now tell everyone, especially my doctor, that I ate fruit while on vacation.

Maybe it will show up at the Iowa State Fair, so I can perpetrate the lie, err... state the facts without telling the whole truth, again this August.
