Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Accident Near Cedar Rapids

An eastern Iowa man has sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle/car accident this morning (Tuesday, May 15).

At about 8:22am, Linn County authorities were notified of a car vs motorcycle accident at the intersection of Highway 151 and Dean Road SW in rural Cedar Rapids.

Authoritites determined that a car driven by 21 year old Ann Marie Mundy of Cedar Rapids, attempted a left turn, but pulled into the path of a motorcycle driven by 29 year old Mike Crumm of Cedar Rapids, and the 2 collided.

Crumm, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Mercy Medical center in Cedar Rapids, with serious injuries. Mundy sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Mundy is being charged with Failure to Yield to Through Traffic While Making a Left Turn.

The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, and more charges could be filed.
