A Southwest Wisconsin man faces charges in Clayton County, for leading authorities on a high speed chase on his motorcycle.


The incident happened Sunday night at about 8:30pm, when Clayton County deputies were attempting to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation, west of McGregor.

The bike took off, going 82 miles an hour in a 55 mph speed zone, sometimes reaching speeds of 120 miles an hour.

The pursuit continued east on Highway 18, crossing the Mississippi River bridge into Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

The motorcyclist, identified as 28 year old Timothy Timler of Prairie du Chien, lost control of his bike and crashed into a ditch.

Timler was taken into custody, and will be brought back to Clayton County to face a charge of eluding. Other charges are pending.
