A Northeast Iowa man is in trouble for allegedly waving a gun around outside a local tavern.


At about 1:45am Sunday (May 14), the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a man waving a firearm around in Clermont, near the Turkey River Saloon. Investigating officers arrested 24 year old Kyle Bishop of West Union on charges of Possession or Control of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. The incident is still under investigation, and more charges could be filed.

Authorities have taken a West Union woman into custody on three outstanding arrest warrants. At about 3pm Sunday, 37 year old Lisa Schroeder was arrested by Fayette County deputies, on 3 Winneshiek County warrants for Probation Violation. The original charges were Driving While Barred, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and OWI-2nd offense. Schroeder was held in the Fayette County jail on $21,000 cash bond. She was then released to the Winneshiek County Sheriff.

A Cedar Falls man has been arrested after authorities discovered an apparent suspicious vehicle at a local business. Just before 3am Saturday, a Fayette County Deputy encountered a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of "Guppies on the Go" gas station in Elgin. The driver, 23 year old Alex Odegard, was taken into custody for OWI-2nd Offense.
