Man Injured When His Car Was Broadsided by Truck

An accident east of Waverly has seriously injured a New Hartford man.

The Iowa State Patrol covered the accident, at about 2:30pm Saturday (Dec. 29) at the intersection of Highway 3 and Aspen Avenue.

A car driven by 68 year old David Christiansen of New Hartford, failed to yield the right of way to a tanker truck driven by 57 year old Jim Johnson of Allison.

Christiansen's car was broadsided by the truck. He was taken by air ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. A condition report was not available.

The tanker truck was owned by Dillavou Oil Company in Waverly.
