Man Cutting Down a Tree, Dies When it Falls on Him

The Allamakee County Sheriff reports that a man has died after a tree fell on him over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly after 1pm Sunday (May 6) along Forest Mills Road, near Postville.

According to the sheriff, a man was in the process of cutting down a tree, when it fell on top of him, pinning him underneath.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not yet been released.

The incident is still under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office.
