Man Arrested for Drugs, Woman Arrested for Assault

A local man has been taken into custody on illegal drug charges.

Shortly after 5pm Wednesday (Oct. 19), Oelwein Police were called out to an incident in the 10 block of 6th Avenue NE.

During the investigation, 35 year old Shawn Rocha of Oelwein was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, a Drug Tax Stamp Violation, Possession of Prescription Drugs-2nd Offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

An Oelwein woman has been arrested on an assault charge. Oelwein Police responded to an incident at about 10pm Wednesday, in the 100 block of 1st Street NE.

22 year old Nicia Gillette was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault, a simple misdemeanor.
