Local Man Jailed for Domestic Abuse Assault

An Oelwein man was put in jail over the weekend on an assault charge.

Just before midnight Saturday (Jan. 13), the Fayette County Sheriff was summoned to a home in Oelwein for a domestic disturbance.

After deputies investigated, 35 year old Christopher Kearns of Oelwein was incarcerated on the charge of Serious Domestic Abuse Assault.

Kearns was held until his initial court appearance.
