Local Arrests for Fight, Warrants, License Violations

An area man has been arrested following a fight in downtown Oelwein.

Just before 6:30pm Wednesday (June 22), Oelwein police were called to an altercation in the 10 block of North Frederick. 29 year old Loyd Williams III of Oelwein was taken into custody on a charge of assault causing injury.

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on a warrant from the state of Missouri. Shortly after 9pm Tuesday (June 21), 27 year old Jeffery Bales II of Oelwein was taken into custody on a Pettis County, Missouri warrant on an original charge of Statutory Rape-1st degree.

Another area man has been arrested on a Fayette County warrant. At about 12:30pm Tuesday, Oelwein police arrested Myles Cornwell. The original charge was violation of a domestic abuse contact order. At the time, Cornwell was also charged with 2 additional violations of no contact order charges.

And following the investigation into an incident on June 2nd, Oelwein authorities filed a complaint Tuesday for driving while license suspended against 44 year old Randall Meike of Oelwein.
