Local Arrest and Citations over Weekend

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on an assault charge

Officers were dispatched at about 2:30pm Saturday, to a disturbance in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue SW. There, 30 year old Thomas Bellendier-Kalkbrenner of Oelwein was taken into custody on a charge of simple assault, a simple misdemeanor.

Late Saturday afternoon Oelwein police cited 50 year old Larry Larson Junior of Oelwein for disturbing the peace, after getting complaints of loud music in the ten block of 2nd Street NW.

On Sunday afternoon, 21 year old David Lorenzen of Oelwein was cited for open container, after he was found walking in the 500 block of North Frederick.

Also Sunday afternoon, 20 year old Jarred Edmonds of Cedar Rapids, was charged with underage alcohol possession, after a traffic stop in the ten block of 1st Avenue NE.
