[Listen] The Girl Scouts Launch Their First Original Song

The Girl Scouts have launched their first-ever original song, "Watch Me Shine". Grammy award winning songwriters Liz Rose and Emily Shackelton penned the new song with some Girl Scouts singing background vocals.

"Watch Me Shine" is the centerpiece of a new campaign that highlights their G.I.R.L. initiative — it stands for go-getters, innovators, risk takers and leaders. As part of the campaign, the Girl Scouts issued a public service announcement, "I'm Prepared … to Lead Like a Girl Scout", that is airing nationwide. The 30-second spot features girls trying a variety of activities including playing the guitar and skateboarding.
