John Deere Provides $500,000 Grant To Dubuque’s Habitat for Humanity

According to a report from our news partners at KWWL, Dubuque's Habitat for Humanity received a generous grant from John Deere, a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity's initiatives. John Deere bestowed a substantial $500,000 grant, of which $84,000 was dedicated to the construction of the newly unveiled home on Washington Street. Habitat for Humanity is making a significant impact in Dubuque addressing the pressing need for housing. The organization recently celebrated the unveiling of its 24th home in the community.

While the Washington Street home was revealed to the public, final touches like paint, carpeting, and doors, are yet to be installed. Habitat for Humanity selects recipients for these built homes through a rigorous application and screening process.

The $500,000 grant from John Deere is expected to be distributed over the next four years, enabling Habitat for Humanity in Dubuque to significantly expand its annual housing production. In addition, the organization continues to seek volunteers, inviting community members to join their efforts either at the House Building Branch or at their new Restore location.
