Former Iowa dirt track racing stand out Brett Moffitt will race the next three weekends in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series. Moffitt will drive for Front Row Motorsports at Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Fontana.

The Grimes, IA native will pilot the No. 34 Shaw's Southern Belle Seafood Ford this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Las Vegas, NV). He will also drive the the No. 34 at Phoenix International Raceway (Phoenix, AZ) on March 15, 2015 and Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, CA), on March 22, 2015.

That ride is normally driven by David Ragan. He is currently subbing for injured Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 18 Toyota Camry.

Twenty-two-year-old Moffitt turned a few heads this past Sunday when he scored his career best NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finish. Moffitt came home eighth at Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Sunday's Kobalt 400 will be Moffitt's ninth Sprint Cup Series start and his second of 2015.

I'm excited about the opportunity to run some races for Front Row," Moffitt said. "After last weekend, I'm obviously eager to get back into a car and keep racing. I'm grateful to Bob Jenkins and his team for giving me the chance to do that. I'll do my best to get some good finishes for them. I'm also thankful that Michael Waltrip Racing is allowing me to pursue this opportunity. I think it's going to benefit everyone in the end." - Brett Moffitt

Front Row Motorsports owner Bob Jenkins understands Moffitt does not have a ton of Sprint Cup experience, but he is confident in Moffitt's abilities.

He's got a lot of hours behind the wheel in testing time, and he was certainly impressive Sunday in Atlanta. For only his eighth start (at Atlanta), he showed a lot of poise, patience and maturity that you don't often see in drivers that age." Bob Jenkins

Moffitt is currently under contract with Michael Waltrip Racing as a test driver, but they are more than willing to offer his services. MWR sees this as another opportunity for him to gain valuable on track experience and help Jenkin's team. Michael Waltrip Racing co-owner Rob Kauffman added that they will continue to work on future opportunities for Brett.

All three races will air live on FOX-TV. Sunday's Kobalt 400 begins live from Las Vegas at 2:30 PM-CT.

Two other Iowa natives are expected to compete this weekend. Former Waterloo Black Hawks player Micahel Annette is slated to drive the H Scott Motorsports No. 46 CypressHQ Chevrolet, Landon Cassill (Fairfax,IA) will be driving the Hillman Racing No. 40 CarsForSale.com Chevrolt.
