Thirteen Northeast Iowa teams are featured in the latest Associated Press high school football rankings, released on Monday (September 15, 2014).

Defending state champion Don Bosco of Gilbertville remains top-ranked in 8-player football for the third-straight week and is the highest rated team from the area. The eight-player poll also has Janesville at No. 5 and Turkey Valley of Jackson Junction at No. 7.

Despite winning last week, South Winneshiek of Calmar falls one spot from second to third in the Class-1A rankings. The Warriors are 3-0.

Four of the top 10 teams in the Class-2A poll are from Northeast Iowa. Among them is New Hampton, which is ranked third and received one first-place vote.

The others are seventh-ranked Hampton-Dumont and eighth-rated Center Point-Urbana. The Stormin' Pointer debut in the poll this week after upsetting second-ranked North Fayette Valley. The TigerHawks are now rated ninth.

In Class-3A, West Delaware of Manchester is now ranked third following Friday's win over fifth-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock. The Hawks have moved up one spot to third this week, while the Go-Hawks have fallen five spots to 10th.
