IDOT Plans Partial Closure Of Cedar Falls Interchange

The partial closure of a highway ramp in the Cedar Valley will require some motorists to take a short detour late this evening (Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016).

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, a portion of the U.S. 218/Iowa 27/Iowa 57 interchange north of Cedar Falls will be shutdown for about three hours while crews replace a bridge sign. The work will be performed from 9 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting.

The sign replacement project will require workers to close the ramp for U.S. 218/Iowa 27 traffic to southbound U.S. 218. During the ramp closure, southbound U.S. 218 traffic will follow Iowa 27 south to the Waterloo Road exit. Then, motorists will go east under the Iowa 27 overpass and turn onto northbound Iowa 27 to southbound U.S. 218.
