Icy roads are being cited as a factor in an SUV accident in rural Bremer County.


According to the sheriff's office, it happened at about 2:30pm Friday (Dec. 28) on Highway 218, near Plainfield.

A Jeep driven by 26 year old Reed Petersen of Belle Plaine, went out of control on the icy pavement, and overturned onto it's side.

No injuries were reported, but Petersen's 2002 Jeep Wrangler had significant damage.

Petersen is being charged with Failure to Prove Security Against Liability.

The Bremer County Sheriff was aided at the scene by the Plainfield Fire Department, Plainfield First Responders, and Waverly Ambulance.
