A shooting in Waterloo earlier this week is now being investigated as a homicide.

Waterloo police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 121 Courtland St. around 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 11, 2017). When they arrived, officers discovered Cedric Craft, 39, inside the home with a gunshot wound to the head.

Craft was taken to a Waterloo hospital, then air-lifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Police said Craft died of injuries he suffered in the shooting Thursday morning.

According to police, Craft's death has been ruled a homicide. Authorities continue to investigate the incident. No suspects were located at the scene and no arrests have been made, officials said.
