Hogs Die in Fayette County Semi Rollover Accident

Numerous hogs have died in a semi rollover in rural Fayette County.

The accident happened at about 6am Tuesday (April 10) on Hemlock Road, a mile east of Fayette.

25 year old James King of New Hampton was driving a semi pulling a trailer loaded with hogs, when he lost control and the rig rolled onto it's side.

King was not hurt, but 40 of the 175 hogs in the trailer were lost. There was also $10,000 in damage to the 2010 Peterbuilt semi and 2003 Barrett Trailer.

King is being charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

The Fayette County Sheriff responded, with assistance from the Fayette Ambulance and Fayette Fire Department.
