Work to extend Greenhill Road around the southwest side of Cedar Falls is getting underway this week. Greenhill is being extended from Hudson Road to W. 27th Street.

The construction project will require the daytime closure of University Avenue west of Hudson Road, starting Monday (June 5, 2017). According to city officials, University will be blocked off between Rasmusson Towing and the Hillcrest Park apartments. The closure will be in effect daily from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for no more than two weeks.

City officials said a signed detour will direct traffic around the construction zone. Westbound University Ave. traffic will be re-routed onto Hudson Road, W. 27th Street and Union Road. Eastbound motorists will use the same route in reverse order.
