Gladbrook Motorcyclist Dead in Marshalltown Accident

A Gladbrook man has died in a motorcycle accident in Marshalltown.

It happened at about 9:30pm Monday (April 17) at the intersection of Highway 14 and Marion Street, on the north side of Marshalltown.

A semi tractor trailer hauling livestock, driven by 24 year old Reid Gerhardt of Fairmont, Minnesota, attempted a left turn to make a delivery at "JBS".

In the process, the semi collided with an oncoming motorcycle driven by 63 year old Gary Johnson of Gladbrook. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is being investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
