Oelwein Police have solved a two-week old investigation into downtown vandalism incidents.

On July 21st, Oelwein Police received several reports of criminal mischief to some downtown businesses in Oelwein. The vandalism was done with spray paint.

As a result of the investigation, authorities have now charged 3 girls, ages 11, 12 and 13, with Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. They have been referred to juvenile court services. Their names were not released.

Oelwein Police are looking into a theft incident. The complaint was filed with the police department at about 5:30pm Thursday (Aug. 3), from the 400 block of 4th Street NW. No other information was available.
