Fayette Sheriff Investigating Why Truck Went into Ditch

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident in which a Dike resident drove into an area ditch.

At about 10:30am Sunday (Dec. 2), authorities received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Heron Road, east of the city of Fayette.

44 year old Chad Rickert of Dike was driving his truck southbound, when it left the road and entered the ditch.

No one was hurt, but there was $3,000 in damage to the 2015 Dodge Ram Truck.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in the investigation.
