A Marquette man sustained some injuries when he crashed a snowmobile in rural Fayette County.

The accident happened at about 1:30pm Thursday (Jan. 4) in the 22,000 block of 100th street, near Westgate.

34 year old Peter Jones was operating a 2015 Polaris Indy 600, westbound in the ditch, when he struck a large drift and was ejected off the snowmobile. Jones was taken by private vehicle to get medical attention. There was $1,000 in damage to the snowmobile.

A Hawkeye man is being charged with causing a two vehicle accident.

It happened Friday at the intersection of Rose Road and Highway 18, north of Hawkeye. A car driven by 17 year old Jessica Boess of Hawkeye struck an SUV driven by 76 year old James Kocher, that pulled into her path.

No one was injured; damages totaled $4500 to the two vehicles. Kocher was charged with failure to yield when entering a highway.

Fayette County Deputies were called out at about 10am Wednesday to a rollover accident on Highway 187, south of Arlington.

A pickup driven by 67 year old Vaughn McClelland of Coggon was headed north when he lost control, and it rolled in the ditch. No one was injured.
