Iowa is home to some of the richest, most bountiful soil in the world. Here's a chance for you to learn more about soil through fun demonstrations.

The Fayette County Farm Bureau is holding a free soil workshop this Saturday, Jan. 16th from 8 a.m. to noon at the National Guard Armory, 200 10th St. SE in Oelwein. The focus of this workshop is to inform farmers and community members of nitrogen mitigation efforts, learn about the different aspects of soil and how to improve your soil health in a very cost-effective way. Demonstrations will start at the beginning of each hour.

The workshop is sponsored by Fontana Park, Buchanan County NRCS and Farm Bureau. Face masks will be required.
