Fayette Co. Sheriff Investigates Pickup Accident

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a one-vehicle accident that happened last Monday, Feb. 12, at about 12:30am.

It occurred on Neon Road, southeast of Oelwein. A southbound pickup driven by 36 year old Adam Jans of West Union, went into the ditch when the vehicle sustained a mechanical malfunction. No one was injured, but the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado had $3,500 in damages.

Fayette County authorities have arrested a Waterloo man on a driving violation. At about 11am Saturday (Feb. 17), 47 year old David Apfel was taken into custody for Driving While his License is Suspended. Apfel was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
