Driver Charged in 2 Vehicle Accident in Winneshiek Co.

No one was injured, but two vehicles were damaged in an accident in Winneshiek County.

It occurred shortly after 3:30pm Friday (Sept. 21), at the intersection of Highway 52 and Town Line Road, southwest of Decorah.

39 year old Bridgette Mann of Calmar was driving north on 52, when the vehicle in front of her suddenly slowed to make a turn. Mann was able to slow down, but a truck behind her, driven by 43 year old Michael Baumler of Fort Atkinson, could not stop in time, rear-ending Mann's sport utility vehicle.

No one was hospitalized, but there was $14,000 in damages.

Baumler was charged with following too close.
