A young Cresco motorist is accused of distracted driving, in a Fayette County accident involving 3 vehicles, sending several to the hospital.

Just before 4pm Monday (Dec. 4), the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a 3 vehicle accident with injuries, in the 16,000 block of Highway 150, near the city of Fayette.

An investigation determined that 18 year old Logan Johnson of Cresco, was driving a pickup north, when he became distracted, and struck a stopped SUV driven by 25 year old Paul Spies Jr. of West Union. The Jeep in turn collided with a stopped car driven by 67 year old Barbara Corbin of Wadena.

Spies’ vehicle went into the ditch and rolled. The three drivers and a passenger in the Spies vehicle were all taken to the West Union hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Jeep and pickup were totaled; Corbin’s car had $5,000 in damage.

Johnson, the pickup driver, was cited for Using an Electronic Device While Driving.
