Deer Causes Lots of Damage to NE Iowa Pickup

An accident involving a deer in Fayette County caused considerable damage to a pickup.

It happened last Thursday (May 21st) at about 9pm. The Fayette County Sheriff got a 911 call of an accident just north of the intersection of Cedar Road and Highway 56, south of Elgin.

46 year old Jamey Carney of Atkins was driving north when a deer came out onto the road and struck his vehicle.

No one was injured, but there was an estimated $7,000 damage to the 2015 Chevy Silverado.
