An Iowa Department of Transportation vehicle was involved in a traffic accident in Fayette County.

It happened at about 1:30pm Tuesday (Aug. 1) at the intersection of 150th Avenue and 310th Street near Castalia.
20 year old Evan Prochaska of Ames was driving the Iowa DOT van south, when he hit a loose patch of gravel, and drove into the ditch. No one was injured, but there was $15,000 in damage. The accident is still under investigation.

A Minnesota driver is being charged after rolling her vehicle into a ditch in rural Fayette County. 21 year old Bridget Harris of Blaine, Minnesota was driving west on 120th Street, south of Sumner, Tuesday afternoon, when she lost control of her vehicle. The SUV entered the ditch and overturned onto the passenger side. Harris was not hurt; she was charged with Failure to Maintain Control. Her 2004 Buick Rainier had $5,000 in damage.

The Fayette County Sheriff is still investigating an accident Thursday morning (Aug. 3), east of Maynard, at the intersection of C-33 and Highway 150. A vehicle driven by 55 year old Brian Boies of Manchester, collided with a car driven by 43 year old Ryan Hansen of Cedar Falls. No one was injured. There was minimal damage to Boies' van, and $2500 damage to Hansen's car.
