Iowa & Iowa State have agreed to continue their annual football rivalry through at least 2023.

According to HawkeyeSports.com, the joint announcement was made Tuesday by Iowa's Director of Athletics Gary Barta, and Jamie Pollard, Iowa State's A.D. Whether or not to keep Iowa State on the schedule has been a hot topic among Hawkeye fans the past few seasons, but the two schools agreed to keep it going for the near future.

Iowa holds a 42-22 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to 1894. The Hawkeyes defeated the Cyclones 42-3, last season at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa State hosts this year's matchup on September 9th.
