The Janseville Wildcats, Hudson Pirates, and Starmont Stars took to the courts Wednesday night during the the 2016 Iowa High School Volleyball State Tournament.

Janesville squared off against Starmont during the Class 1A quarterfinal round. Janesville won in straight sets, but the Wildcats had to work hard to steel the momentum away from the Stars (Final 3-0, 25-20 25-21 25-13)

Hudson battled Lawton-Bronson to fight for a Class 1A semifinal spot. After dropping Game 1 to LB, the Pirates bounced back to win the next three games to secure a semifinal berth (Final 3-1, 18-25 26-24 25-14 26-24). To see the complete state tournament bracket, click here.

Janesville's next opponent will be Holy Trinity Catholic Thursday (Nov. 10) at 6:00 PM on Springville also Thursday at 6:00 PM. A win by both teams would set up an all Cedar Valley show down for the Class 1A title. The championship match is slated for Friday (Nov. 11, 7:00 PM).
