The Waterloo Black Hawks made the trip to Lincoln, NE payoff. They return to Waterloo for their Saturday night home opener inside 'Party Town'.

Waterloo moved to first place in the United States Hockey League Western Conference with a 5-2 Thursday night road win against the Lincoln Stars.

Kevin Charyszyn scored two goals for the Black Hawks. Nick Swaney, Mikey Anderson, and Garrett Klee each added a goal to the final tally. Goalie Severi Isokangas stop 28 of the 30 shots he faced.

Waterloo's home opener for the 2016/2017 season is this Saturday (Oct. 8, 2016) at Young Arena. The doors open at 6:05, and the puck drops at 7:05 PM. There will be lots of prizes, Pokemon (Go) fun, a video game challenge, and more (read more).
