Criminal Mischief Arrest in Oelwein; More Investigated

A Northeast Iowa woman has been arrested on a vandalism-related charge.

Early today (Oct. 2nd), Oelwein Police arrested 28 year old Erika Scheffert on a charge of Criminal Mischief, 4th Degree.

The charge was in connection to a disturbance call shortly after 2:30am Sunday (Oct. 1) in the 600 block of 6th Street NE in Oelwein.

The Oelwein Police department is also investigating a theft and 2 vandalism incidents.

Oelwein Police received a report of a theft at about 1:30pm Friday (Sept. 29), from the 600 block of 1st Avenue SW. No other information was released.

The first report of criminal mischief, or vandalism, was reported just before 4:30pm Friday, from the 200 block of 4th Street SW. The other incident was called in to police at about 10pm Friday from the 200 block of South Frederick.

Oelwein Police are looking into the incidents.
