A routine traffic stop has sent a Guttenberg man to jail on illegal drug charges.

Shortly after 11am Wednesday (Oct. 11), Clayton County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle in Guttenberg on a traffic violation. During the stop, the officers spotted marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. The driver, 47 year old Joel Bolsinger, was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

Clayton County authorities have arrested an Oelwein man on outstanding warrants from Buchanan County. On Wednesday, deputies took 37 year old Ryan Knight into custody on warrants for Violation of a No-Contact Order, and Accessory to a Felon. Knight was initially taken to the Clayton County jail, then transferred to Buchanan County.

A St. Olaf resident, 22 year old Marcus King, was arrested Wednesday on a Clayton County warrant for a probation violation. The original charge was Indecent Contact with a Child. King was taken to the Clayton County jail and held on $50,000 bond.

And on Thursday (Oct. 12) the Clayton County Sheriff took custody of a Cedar Rapids woman from Linn County Authorities. 32 year old Brittani Mengi was wanted on a Clayton County warrant for a probation violation. The original charge was Manufacturing Methamphetamine. She was held without bond.
