Clarksville’s Maddie Poppe is the Peoples Choice

Northeast Iowa's own American Idol winner, Maddie Poppe, has won another award.

Maddie, a native of Clarksville in Northeast Iowa, has won a People's Choice Award in the category of "Competition Contestant of 2018".

Poppe was up against Nikki Bella from Dancing with the Stars, Brynn Cartelli from The Voice, Cody Nickson who was on the Amazing Race, and Eva Igo from World of Dance.

Poppe competed against 11 other nominees in the category; people voted online for their favorite.

Poppe, who won her People's Choice award last night (Sunday, Nov. 11), attended the event, but her award was given before the show aired.

Poppe has just recently released a single, entitled "Keep On Movin' On".
