Northeast Iowa authorities had a mess to clean up after a cement truck tipped over in rural Fayette County.

The accident happened at about 2pm Friday on Highway 18, south of Waucoma. A cement mixer driven by 47 year old Roger Ameling of West Union, was being backed into a narrow driveway, when the wheels slipped off the drive. The truck tipped and rolled onto it's side into a ditch.

The cement mix had to be removed from the mixer with water, before the vehicle could be moved. Damages to the truck were estimated at $13,000. No one was hurt.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Waucoma fire department and first responders and West Union fire department.
