A man and woman were taken into custody after a loaded handgun was found during a traffic stop in Waterloo early Saturday morning (Oct. 6, 2018).

Rajih Donley, 30, of Cedar Falls, was charged with possession of firearm as a felon. Ashley Cummings, 25, of Evansdale, was charged with carrying weapons. Both were booked into the Black Hawk County jail.

According to Waterloo police, officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team and third-shift patrol officers conducted a traffic stop near Kern St. and Grandview Ave. just before 1 AM. Police said officers checked two vehicles and found a loaded 9mm handgun in one of them during the investigation.
