Cedar Falls Man Arrested in Fayette County

A Cedar Falls motorist has been arrested in Fayette County for a driving infraction.

At about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a Fayette County sheriff's deputy found a disabled vehicle at the intersection of Harding Road and "F" Avenue, just outside of Clermont.

When the officer made contact with the driver, 40-year-old Matthew Meyer, he seemed to be intoxicated. Meyer allegedly had been driving the vehicle and just pulled over.

He was taken into custody and charged with OWI first offense. Meyer was held in the Fayette County jail until his court appearance.

A Fayette man, 29-year-old Michael McGuire, was charged by the Fayette County Sheriff's office last Friday, with driving while his license is suspended.

The charge stems from written complaints gathered, concerning McGuire driving in the Fayette area.

The charges against McGuire were filed with the clerk of court, and he will have to appear at a later date.
