CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Linn County deputies have arrested a 17-year-old boy following a carjacking at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids and a chase that reached speeds of 110 mph.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says a woman reported that someone assaulted her and took her minivan shortly after 1am Tuesday morning at the hospital. The vehicle soon was spotted northbound on Interstate 380, north of Center Point. The chase began when a deputy tried to pull over the minivan.

The Sheriff's Office says the chase ended when stop sticks were deployed to deflate the minivan's tires. The boy, identified as 17 year old Nicholas Scott of Palo, was taken into custody without incident. He's charged with robbery, felony eluding and several traffic violations.

The Black Hawk county sheriff and Evansdale police assisted in the pursuit.

The incident remains under investigation by the Linn County sheriff.
