Burglaries Solved with Local Arrest

Authorities have arrested an area man in connection with a string of recent burglaries.


On July 31st and August 8th, the Oelwein Police Department was called out on several reports of burglaries to local businesses.

As a result of the investigation, 21 year old Jason Cole was taken into custody Wednesday morning (Aug. 9) in the 100 block of West Charles in Oelwein.

Cole is being charged with seven counts of Burglary-3rd Degree. He was being held in the Fayette County jail.

The investigations continue, and more arrests and charges are pending.

The Oelwein Police Department is investigating a criminal mischief complaint. Authorities received the vandalism report at about 12:30pm Wednesday from the 500 block of 1st Street NE. No other information was released.
