A Readlyn motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident that sent two people to a Waterloo hospital.

The Bremer County Sheriff released the information today (July 29th), on a traffic accident that happened Friday at about 4:30pm, near Readlyn, on Highway 3.

An eastbound vehicle driven by Heather Nelson of Des Moines, slowed to make a left turn onto County Road V-43, when she was struck in the rear by a car driven by Brandon Rathbone of Readlyn.

Rathbone and his passenger, Traeton Wilharm of Sumner, were taken to Allen Memorial Hospital, by the Denver Ambulance service. A condition report was not available.

Nelson and her four passengers declined treatment.

Total damages were estimated at $8,500.

Rathbone is being charged with failure to maintain control.
