A photo began circulating Facebook on Tuesday, August 1st of one of the anchor stores at the mall. The home decor super store located at 2060 Crossroads Boulevard now has a banner spread across the building.

It reads "CLOSING: This location only..."

The At Home store appears to be closing its doors for good in Waterloo. According to reports, the 112,000 square foot store opened for business in April of 2016.

According to ScrapeHero, only 2 of the 264 At Home locations are in the Hawkeye State.

This Crossroads store was the second At Home store location to open in the state of Iowa. Back when it opened several years ago, the big box store brought 25 jobs to Waterloo.

Including the department store, there are 22 businesses/groups that are a part of the Crossroads Mall in Waterloo. This includes the Crossroads Marcus Theater, Applebee's, Bath & Body Works, and Finish Line.

Over the past few years, stores at this mall have been closing at a very rigorous pace.

2018 ~ Yonkers Closure

2019 ~ Sears Closure

2020 ~ Dillards & Gordmans' Closures

2021 ~ Buckle Closure

We reached out to At Home store officials but have yet to hear back on the store closing. In addition, we reached out to officials from Waterloo Crossroads Mall and they had no comment about the situation at this time.

There appear to be no other plans for more store closures at the mall either.

If there is any additional information about the closure of the store, we will make sure to bring that to you as soon as possible.

Roseanne Barr Abandoned Iowa Mansion in Eldon, IA

I fell into a rabbit hole when I found out that Roseanne Barr almost had a mansion in Iowa. After seeing the current state of the property on Facebook, I was amazed that such an extravagant project could be so quickly overtaken by nature. Only two hours away from Waterloo, this abandoned field could have hosted some of the coolest and elite Hollywood parties in the Midwest. The current photos were taken by Gable Fry on a recent trip he took.
