An area man has been arrested for allegedly trying to burn down a structure near a courthouse.


The incident happened Sunday, May 14th; Manchester police were called to the gazebo located at the Delaware County Courthouse shortly after 7pm. A caller told authorities that there was a gas can on fire near the gazebo.

Following an investigation, it was determined that the person who set the fire, attempted to burn down the gazebo by pouring gasoline around the structure, and lighting it on fire. No word on any damages from the blaze; no one was hurt.

As a result of the investigation, 37 year old Bruce Freeman-III of Manchester was arrested on a charge of Arson-2nd Degree, which is a Class "C" Felony.
