A Northeast Iowa woman is recovering from injuries she received, from being trapped in a trench in rural Fayette County.

At about 2:45pm Friday (Aug. 31) emergency responders received a 911 call, reporting that a woman was trapped in a trench from a collapsed dirt wall, on a farm north of Fayette, on Ivy Road.

Fayette County deputies found 25 year old Bridgett Fox of Randalia, trapped in a trench that was being excavated at the farm.

Fire and ambulance crews worked for about 45 minutes, before Fox was freed. She was airlifted to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. The extent of her injuries was not released.

The Fayette County Sheriff notes that several local equipment companies helped move the dirt, rescuing fox.
