Area Teen Hurt in Pickup Rollover Near Maynard

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a pickup rollover that sent a teenage girl to the hospital.

The sheriff received a report of the accident just before 5pm Tuesday (Nov. 28), on 80th Street, southwest of Maynard.

The 16 year old motorist was driving west, when she met an oncoming vehicle. In trying to avoid a collision, her pickup went out of control, entered a ditch, and rolled onto the passenger side.

The driver, whose name was not released, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, to be treated for minor injuries.

Her 2007 Ford Ranger was considered a total loss.
