Authorities are investigating a deadly accident at a Northeast Iowa campground.

At about 9pm Tuesday (Sept. 4) the Fayette County Sheriff received a 911 call, reporting that a vehicle had gone into a pond at Skip-A-Way RV Park and Campground, near Clermont.

30 year old Steven Baker Jr. of Elgin had been driving his 2000 Mitsubishi Sport in the campground, when the vehicle went out of control, through a chain link fence, and into the pond. The area where the vehicle entered the water was estimated to be 18 to 20 feet deep.
