Area Man Arrested For OWI for Causing Damage with his Vehicle

A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested after authorities received a report of an erratic driver, causing damage with his vehicle in the city of Hawkeye.

Just before 11pm Wednesday (Dec. 5), the Fayette County Sheriff was called out to Hawkeye. An erratic driver had apparently caused property damage.

When deputies arrived to look for the vehicle, they found 29 year old Ryan Nichols-Church, walking down County Road W-14, south of St. Lucas. Officers also found his vehicle, crashed into a nearby ditch.

Nichols-Church was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Maintain Control, Public Intoxication, and Striking Fixtures.
