Area Man Arrested After Accident in Oelwein

A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested on several charges following a traffic accident in Oelwein.
It happened just before 8pm Tuesday (Sept. 27), at the intersection of Highway 150 South, and 12th Street SE.

There are few details released on the accident, which involved only property damage.
However, one of the drivers, 49 year old Robert Walsh of Hazleton, was taken into custody for OWI 2nd Offense, Driving While his License is Suspended, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Following too Close, and Failing to Have Insurance.

An Oelwein man has been arrested for refusing to pull over for law enforcement during a traffic stop.

The incident occurred shortly after 3pm Tuesday (Sept. 27), in the 200 block of 8th Avenue SE, when Oelwein Police attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 22 year old Aaron Lewis.

After eventually stopping for officers, Lewis was taken into custody and charged with Eluding, Reckless driving, 2 Counts of Failure to Yield to a Traffic Control Device, and Violation of an Instructional Permit.
