Authorities are investigating the shooting of another zebra at a rural Oelwein farm.

Buchanan County Deputies were called out shortly after 1pm Sunday, to a property southwest of Oelwein, in rural Buchanan County. The property, as well as the zebras, are owned by Mike Henninger of rural Oelwein.

Arriving deputies found the dead animal on the property. The zebra was taken to Ames to be tested to find the cause of it's death.

This is the second time a zebra has been killed on the property; the first incident happened about a year ago, in October of 2017, when a zebra was found dead from a gunshot wound. It was not known if the 2 incidents are related.

In last year's investigation, Henninger claimed he knows who was behind the incident, and that he had been the target of some threats, directed specifically at his pets and livestock.
