An Overnight Accident Prompts Closing a Dubuque Bridge

The Julien Dubuque bridge was closed down for a time overnight, because of a traffic accident.

The two vehicle accident happened early this morning(Thursday, Nov. 15) on the Illinois side of the bridge.

According to the East Dubuque Police Department, two vehicles collided, prompting officials to close down the bridge. It was not noted at what time the bridge was reopened to traffic.

There were some injuries reported, however names and the severity of the injuries was not released. The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the East Dubuque, Illinois Police Department.

Back in April, one person was killed in a two vehicle accident on the Julien Dubuque Bridge.
